NINEVA LENT, THE DOOR WAY OF GREAT LENT [MALAYALAM]
Fast of Nineveh tend to be a door way of the Great Lent of fifty days. The three day fast of Nineveh commemorates the three days that Prophet Jonah spent inside the belly of the Great Fish and the subsequent fast and repentance of the Ninevites at the warning message of the prophet Jonah. Also Esther and Mordecai pleaded the Jews to fast for the help from heaven. The fasting and prayer evetually got results from heaven.

A SEASON OF RENEWAL FOR ALL [ENGLISH]
Prophet Isaiah was emphatic in arguing that lent and fasting are not just pious "obligatory Observances" for the people of God, but a trmendous tranforming force. The central theme of the preaching of Jesus Christ and earlier, of John the Baptist, was the call to repentance and renewal. All the three elemets - body, mind and soul, do participate in this ardurous process of Lent. The note in Isaiah specifically exhorts that lent is to accepted wholeheartedly as the time to repair and make anew.

Tradition is founded upon the Holy Trinity, it constantly proclaims the Gospel of Christ, and it is found within the boundaries of the Church and is expounded by the Fathers. Holy traditions are universal and timeless. It is in fulfillment of our Lord’s mandate to go and make disciples of all nations, that we find an authentic understanding of the church.

Lord knows us better than we know ourselves. Real knowledge commence when we realize our ignorance. This is the greatest divine knowledge that God is expecting that we should have. First Peter denied Jesus, next he thought he knows and eventually he confessed that he does not know. Restoration of the commision of Peter is a great scene of Christian reconciliation.
