MISSION ON THE RIVERSIDE
By Rt. Rev. Abraham Mar Paulose Episcopa
[Diocesan Bishop of Kollam Diocese, Marthoma Church]
The ardency of the urban culture cast out the traditional true faith and mission and looks for neo-emotional spirituality which suit well to their modern lifestyle. It should be a serious thought that whether Church can reach out to these villages and extend the caring ministry to those people. The mission in the villages is not restricted for the propagation of the word of God alone, but it is to explore all their needs and extend helping hands for them to improve their life. Life is not for self-escape but it is for the salvation of others.

GRACE, FAITH AND WORK
By Dr K.C.Nainan, Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A
Anybody who believes in the sacrificial death of Jesus and repents is saved from his/her sins. It is by grace and by grace alone we are saved! It is an unconditional gift from Heaven for all people dead and alive. Jesus Christ is the only Way and Door to the Kingdom of God. We are saved to do good works, which is an acceptable sweet-smelling sacrifice. Charity and good works are the fruits of salvation. Thus Grace, Faith and Work constitute the trinity of truth in Christian life.

ARE JEWS REJECTED FROM THE KINGDOM OF GOD?
By Fr. Dr. Reji Mathew, STOTS Nagpur
It is only a theology of convenience to eliminate Jews from the Kingdom of God. What Jesus wants from us is the love for the enemies. The prayer that is pleasing for God is not that of self-justification and of accusation of your neighbor, but that of repentance. Only a perverted theology can interpret the brutal measures of the concentration camps as means of God’s justice. St. Paul is of the opinion that the call and election of Israel as the People of God are not null and void after the crucifixion of Jesus. Christ event should not lead us to a theology of hate and revenge.

'IT DOES MATTER'
By Prof. Dr. Zac Varghese, London
There is an 'it does not matter' attitude when and how we turn up at our churches on a Sunday morning. People spend thousands of pounds to get the right dress for common functions. But we forget such discipline when we attend Lord’s Table on a Sunday morning or prepare ourselves for the family prayer; do not forget we are in the presence of our Lord who is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. An attitude to perfection is at the heart of Christian lifestyle. It does matter to follow the prescriptions laid out in the Sermon on the Mount to attain perfection to become a new creation.

GOD HAS HEARD YOUR PRAYER
By E.S. John Australia
While respiration is the breathing of the body, prayer is the breathing of the soul. Supplication to the Lord of all things is the spiritual umblical cord that bridge with the spirit of God and the spirit of man. God is our confessor who absolves our sins and debts. The real prayer is the glorification of God in our thought, word and deed. No prayer from a polluted mind is heard and rewarded.

IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY PRAYER
By H.G. Mathews Mar Barnabas Metropolitan
Prayer is the interaction between the Father God and we children. Whatever we do for glory of God is worshipping. In prayer we praise God and supplicate our human needs. At the same time we accept our sin before God and ask for absolution from Him. The group prayers make us to accept our co-beings as equal. The family that prays together stays together. Holy Spirit is always our mediator and the Holy Spirit guides us in our prayer.

POETRY
PSALMS 23, 27 AND 32
By John Kunnathu
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for You are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
