SOW GOOD SEEDS FOR GREAT HARVEST |
Every farmer and Gardner knows the simple basic truth that good seeds will always produce plentiful harvest if other conditions for germination and growth are favorable (Luke 8: 5-15). In this parable of the sower our Lord explained it clearly and in the most understandable terms. We the followers and believers of Jesus Christ are called to be the sowers for the kingdom of God on earth. The seeds we select are of great importance for the best type of harvest. First of all we have to realize and recognize the simple truth that no harvest without sowing suitable and good seeds. In other words do not expect a Harvest without sowing seeds!
The seeds can be our thoughts, words, prayers, dreams and desires, and predominantly our actions. Selective and healthy seeds have the greatest chances of producing the best harvest of fruits and results. Many people do not get the desired blessings from the Lord because they do not plant the seeds at all. Whatever the seeds we plan to sow, they must be healthy and holy, acceptable according to the Lord’s teaching, and then we can expect great blessings from our loving God. Sometimes harvest comes from a totally unexpected corners of life. It may happen in this life or in the life after. But the good Lord will certainly provide a great harvest of several folds in His own time. He knows what we need before we know our own needs!
The parable of the sower clearly shows that the good seeds fallen in the best fertile soil gave the harvest. We do not have to be disappointed or blamed when the seeds fall in the unfavorable places or the enemy destroys the seeds, and thus harvest is not happening. All our sincere and unselfish efforts are always accounted before the Lord. As Christians let us always give our best to our living Lord God to honor Him.
We give because we want to give. There is a fountain of great joy that comes from giving. How sad and unfortunate it is that many people do not experience the joy of giving! As the Word of God saying that giving is better than receiving. God gave His best for each human sinner. It took the whole heaven to redeem one lost soul. John 3:15 proclaim this truth. Heaven’s best Seed was planted in the world in the process of incarnation, ministry, death, resurrection, and ascension so that Christ-like children will be born through His Son Jesus Christ and by the power and presence of Holy Spirit. Now God has called us to be useful and powerful witnesses for God’s great plan of salvation. He wants us to be His sowers. Amen
