WE MUST KNOW WHAT WE HAVE IN CHRIST |
Very often Christian believers do not realize and recognize what great and infinite blessings we have in Christ Jesus. We are truly and greatly promised and blessed in our Savior. Even before the world was made, believers had been chosen by God to be His through our union with His son, so that we would be holy and without fault before Him (Ephesians 1:4). Through faith without our good work, we are saved and declared not guilty before the justice of God because His son paid the price for our eternal salvation. Thus sin and Satan have no power or claim on believers. Abundant life here on earth as well as in heaven are guaranteed in Jesus for every follower, and the gift of Holy Spirit is guaranteed exclusively to all of us. In fellowship with triune God we called for a fruitful life of good works.
Jesus Christ is the key that opens all the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3) and we are invited to be partners of God’s treasury. We are called children of God who inherit citizenship in the Kingdom of God. Priesthood and sainthood are given to every believer as reported in the writings of Apostles Peter, Paul and John. The right to prohibit and permit on earth is given to believers (Mathew 18:20). Our Lord’s presence is guaranteed whenever two or three meet in His Name. There is also the promise that He will be with us to the end of time.
We do not have to conquer this world because He already did so, and therefore we are invited to share His victory (John 16:33) In the last chapter of Mark’s Gospel there is list of unusual powers for believers. Through faith and prayer we have a choice to empower that promise. Freedom we have in Jesus Christ is unique and unparallel to anything.
Death cannot put an end to a believer’s life. Salvation, eternal life, fellowship and friendship with our blessed Trinity are the greatest and most important gifts we believers have in our Savior. Let us read, study and meditate on the word of God to know and experience many other blessings promised to all of us. Bible is a mine of God’s promises and blessings! Let us not entangled with man-made promises, traditions and legends that could interfere with teachings and blessings from our Lord. Amen
