Recently Pastor Rick Warren asked the question “when does the human life begin?” to both presidential candidates. Senator McCain (supporter of pro-life) sharply and definitely said that life begins at conception whereas Senator Obama’s (supporter of pro-choice) answer was murky and muddy. For a Christian the answer must be clear and definite as far as the beginning of life is concerned. Human life begins at the time of conception. God knows every human being before he/she is born. Jesus came to save and support life. Nothing happens without His knowledge.

Children are God’s gift. Mothers are God’s partners in the creation process and man is created in His own image. In a mother’s womb the Maker is assembling every part of a human being from the beginning of conception. We have no right to interfere or destroy the Lord’s creation. Abortion is wrong and sinful. Execution of defenseless babies in mothers’ wombs is horrible and terrible. We have a right not to get conceived. But once the conception has taken place, the right we have is to protect and nourish the helpless and innocent babies. Souls of the executed and unborn children are crying out before the Lord God who is the supreme Judge of every man. On the Day of Judgment all who support abortion will have to answer to God!

I am really surprised how could a true Christian could support abortion. There may be few cases where abortion is the only solution to a very difficult problem. Most of the abortions are unnecessary and adoption is the best alternative. All Christians must fight for the rights of the unborn children. When the Lord said “Let the children come to me and do not STOP them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these” (Mathew 19:13-14), this invitation belongs to the unborn children too! Man has no right to STOP them through abortion. Let all followers of Christ pray and rise up to fight for the lives of the unborn babies from the day of conception when life begins. Amen
