YOU ARE CLEAN, COMPLETELY CLEAN |
Every Christian believer needs to have the true and deep conviction that by God’s grace and infinite mercy he or she is clean (saved), declared not guilty or is forgiven from all the sins. Our salvation does not depend on any amount of kind of good works we may be doing. It is a gift from the Lord God because His only begotten son paid a price for our sins on Calvary. In other words every believer is declared as a forgiven saint. The term “saint” was used to recognize all Christian believers in the first century churches. Later on church leaders began to set part that the term “saint” is only for some selected persons, and thus canonized saints of the traditional churches came into existence. Of course, church has no business in classifying, categorizing, and canonizing some selected persons as saints. All believers are God’s saints and priests.
Good works are the fruits of salvation, which are expected from every branch that are grafted into the divine Vine from Heaven. We have been declared clean or saved when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. We confess our sins and mistakes to God who will forgive us through our one and the only mediator, Jesus Christ (1 John 1:8), who alone pleads with the Father on our behalf (1 John 2: 1-2). When we commit sins and mistakes to our fellowmen, we must confess to them and forgive them also. It is by our confession and faith that we are saved (Romans 10: 10 – 11).
Though we are forgiven, it is very difficult or impossible to live in this world without making mistakes. We are in a battle- field where the enemies are in our own flesh, the world and Satan, which includes powers of Darkness, spiritual rulers and authorities. God’s great gift of Holy Spirit is freely given to every Christian believer to dwell within us and help us out in our constant battle with our enemies. God’s sanctification is always with us.
None of the religious external ceremonies, faith and dependence on our man-made traditions, rules and regulations will help us to experience salvation. Only the blood of the Lamb of God will be the source and foundation of our salvation. Believers should never put their faith on anything or anybody but on the Son of God who died for us. Our redemption comes from our own maker. Heavenly Father loves us so much that he gave his own beloved son as the sacrificial Lamb for every born and unborn human being on this planet. God’s Holy Spirit is the guarantee of the seal of salvation.
Every believer in Jesus Christ, the only Savior of the mankind, must rejoice in the Lord, because he or she is given the free gifts of salvation and the Holy Spirit, promise of resurrection and a new spiritual body to live in the Kingdom of God. We are called to be Christ’s witnesses and ambassadors to proclaim the Good News to all around us. Amen.
