Rev. Fr. M. K. Kuriakose is a senior priest in the North East American Diocese of Malankara Orthodox Church. He is the Vicar of St. Thomas Malankara Orthodox Church, Philadelphia, USA. Father is a graduate in Sacred Theology from Orthodox Theological Seminary Kottayam, Bachelor of Divinity from United Theological College Bangalore, Master of Theology in Church History from UTC Bangalore, M.A. in Archives Management from National Archives of India New Delhi, M.S. in Library Science from Columbia University New York and M.A. in Indian History from Mysore University. Achen officiated in many key positions of the Church, Diocese and the community. Lineage of Fr. Kuriakose is from famous Madathikudy branch of the Murimattom family.

It is urgent that we Christians loose our worldly identity and acquire Christian identity so that we can save not only the people but the entire earth from destruction. Unless we are united we cannot change the world from destruction. All wars, competition on trade and acquisition of weapons of mass destruction will end if we are united to spread the love of Christ to the world. The common man is looking forward to a practical way of witnessing Christ.

Without wearing the whole armor of God, we are not able to withstand in the evil day, to sustain in faith life or to remain unhindered by their persistent attacks by the evil ones. It is essential that consistently we walk in the protection and power of all pieces of the spiritual armor of God. The combat for which we are to be prepared is not against ordinary human beings but against a subtle enemy of evil forces operational in all our circumstances.

His Grace Mathews Mar Barnabas was unique in many respects. His well-known simplicity, humility, sincerity, innocence, deep spirituality, and purity of heart always remained prominent in our memory.

On this day August 31, 2025, we joyfully celebrate the day he was ordained to the priesthood and began his sacred ministry.
