H.G. DR. GEEVARGHESE MAR OSTHATHIOS METROPOLITAN

H.G. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Osthathios is the senior most Metropolitan and President of the Mission Church Board & Charity Trusts of Indian Orthodox Church. He had also served as the Diocesan Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese of the Church for a long span and recently retired from the diocesan services due to old age and sickness. Even from the time of his priesthood he was well known as one of the foremost orators of the Church. By his tireless efforts he had extended in a great way the charitable outlook of the Church. He honors and keeps a balanced view of the doctrines of other religions and faith practices of other denominations of Christianity. He upholds and works relentlessly to establish the social justice of God in this world. He is a pioneering patron of Light of Life and had given blanket permission for publishing the contents of books authored by him.

H.G. Geevarghese Mar Osthathios was called for his heavenly abode, breathed his last at 7.30 PM on February 16, 2012, and gathered to His folks and joined the cloud of witnesses. He was 94 years of age at his last breath. He was a lived legend of our era. We bow before his greatness and kiss his hands tearfully..
