THE DREADFULLNESS OF APOSTASY
By H.G. Thomas Mar Makarios
[Diocesan Asst. Metropolitan of Niranam Diocese, Malankara Orthodox Church ]
The author of Epistle to Hebrews very clearly describes in a serious manner of the dreadful nature and consequences to fall away after having gone so far in the profession of Christian faith. Those who are baptized in Christ are an enlightened class. Those who are merged with Christ in baptism always walk in light, taste the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit, enjoy the Word of God and know the power of the world to come. By retracting from this enlightenment we are crucifying the Son of God afresh, and putting Him to open shame.

CHRIST THE IMMANUEL
By Dr K.C.Nainan, Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A
In the book of Isaiah, it had been prophesized that a virgin will become pregnant without any relationship with a man and this child will be called Immanuel which means, “God is with us.” The Son of God left Heaven and emptied the glory and riches of Heaven to present Himself as one amongst us with our limitations and weakness. In Immanuel, we have our salvation and freedom from the bondage of sin, Satan and the fallen world.

FAITH AND FAMILY - SERIES 13 FAMILY CULTURE
By Rev. Dr. Valsan Thampu
Jesus was remarkably free in the Spirit and celebrated life as a festival of love and compassion. He came to reach out to the world, not to keep the world at a distance. The best that parents can do for their children is to maintain a distinctive family culture wherein children are nurtured and equipped for life. Those who fail to respond caringly to human needs are passive thieves, from a spiritual perspective. A believer is not just one who says, “Lord, Lord”. He is one who imbibes the spirit of Christ: the spirit of dynamic positivism.

BIOGRAPHY
SADHU KOCHOONJU UPADESHI
By John Joseph Nalloor
Sadhu Kochoonju Upadeshi was a lived legend of true Christian Spirituality. Leaving everything to Lord while living in this world as foreigner and sojourner on earth was the song of the life of Kochoonju Upadeshi. According to him the Bible is not a book to be read but an instruction book, which should be followed, in day-to-day life. God had used him as an instrument in His hand to share the Word of God to millions as St. Paul was used. His hymns were inspired by Holy Spirit and will stay immortal and eternal in the mind of Malayalee Christians of all denominations.

THE FACE OF CHRIST
By Mini Kirshnan - Madras
The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us 2000 years ago, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John bore witness of Him. How did Jesus look like? Will we recognize Jesus the moment we set eyes on him? Jesus’ beauty was not the brilliance of a thousand suns; the moon was not a reflection of his toe-nails; the peacock was not envious of his gait; the lightning did not compete with his eyes. Does it really matter what Jesus looked like?

INTOXICANTS
By E.S. John Australia
Alcoholism that triggers to many uncontrollable vices which make our body as a hotbed of Satan’s treasury is to be shunned at any cost because selling our body and spirit to our Creator’s adversary will corrode our salvation bit by bit. There is an accountability of money and wealth that is freely provided by the Giver of life. Hence intoxication is a sin on both fronts, firstly the desecration of the temple of God, secondly the squandering of money. Christians are supposed to have followed the footprints of the Savior who could bridle His body passions.

SEEK UNTO GOD BETIMES
By Rev. Fr. Titus John
It is a great blessing in this world that we get the insight to seek Lord earnestly. God’s ways are of enriching the souls of his people with graces and comforts. The beginning is small, but the progress is to perfection. Those who seek Lord early he shall find Him. Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. God know us wherever we are and whatever we are doing. He discerns all our imaginations and nothing is concealed to Him.

BIBLICAL Vs GANDHIAN THOUGHTS AND LIQUOR PROHIBITION
By Dr. Syriac Thomas
Gandhiji was touched for the first time by the beauty of the religion of love when he read the 'Sermon on the Mount' in the New Testament. During his prayer meetings, parts of the Bible were read out and at times Psalms were sung along with ‘bhajans’. Gandhiji considered liquor drinking as a sin. As the Bible witness that Jesus always stood for and with poor and downtrodden of the society, Gandhiji's mind also was merged with poor.

POEM [MALAYALAM]
WHO AM I?
By John Kunnathu
Satan smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head and he took a potsherd to scrape himself while he was sitting among the ashes. Then his wife said to him, "Do you still hold fast your integrity? Curse God and die!" But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
