By Rt. Rev. Yuyakim Mar Coorilos
[Diocesian Bishop of USA-Canada-Europe Diocese, Marthoma Syrian Church]
God's word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. This world is governed by the power of darkness. Being in the darkness is a desert experience. presence of Christ and his gospel makes a desert place not only tolerable, but also desirable; it makes the wilderness a paradise. Church cannot run away from the fearful desert experience. As follower of Jesus our life should be a reminder to the world.

THE NEED AND JOY OF GIVING
By Dr K.C.Nainan, Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A
Our Lord’s teaching, His life and the writings and work of His disciples insist and remind us the importance and joy of giving and helping others. Jesus Christ advised His disciples to give away freely everything they received freely from the Lord. Christianity’s main core of teaching is to love, to serve and sacrifice unconditionally. The Lord’s blessings are guaranteed for all cheerful givers.

FAITH AND FAMILY - SERIES 15 EPILOGUE
By Rev. Dr. Valsan Thampu
Faith is the key to a breakthrough. It has the unique power to enable new beginnings. The Kingdom of God, as envisaged and announced by Jesus, is a horizon of new beginnings. Every home stands in need of a new beginning. And we are free to begin again, anew. He who is in Christ Jesus, says Paul, is a new creation. The new has come. The old has passed away. The old must make way for the new.

JOSEPH, THE JUST
By Fr. K.K. John Philadelphia
God the Son emptied Himself from the bosom of God the Father and assumed in the womb of a mortal, Virgin Mary. God employed whole creations; seen and unseen, spirit and material, inanimate and animate, born and unborn, young and old, Gentiles and Jews, agnostics and believers, scholars and stupid, rich and poor, the just and the cruel, natives and foreigners, ruler and outcasts, meek and the powerful to participate in the incarnation.

LIFE IS ALL ABOUT 'YES' AND 'NO' RESPONSES
By Dr. Zac Varghese, London
The consequences of saying the two words yes or no shape our lives. It is because of God’s infinite generosity that we have the freedom to opt for a yes or no response, and honour that option with all that we are endowed with. Jesus always said ‘yes’ to the Father's prompting, and so should we. Our attitude must be one of eternal gratitude for the chance to choose what is right.

SHIRAZ MADE IN CANA
By Rev. John T. Mathew, Canada
We are all invited to the wedding feast of new life in the New Year. We have all been consuming an inferior quality of wine. Whether inferior or inexpensive, our wine supply will run out. Our energies and resources will dry out. Those of us who are aware of the unexpected, painful shortage of our resources, aware of our dreams shattered, aware of our hopes dashed, aware of our desire to struggle to continue, have a choice.

THE COSMIC MAN
By E.S. John Australia
Despite we acknowledge that man is created in God's own image and likeness, our puzzle after the fall of the knowledge of the superlative excellences of man's image has created an ocean of perplexities, driving man to the unknown territory of confusion. Jesus proved that every abnormality or sub-normality has a devil in charge. God should become our personal by our purity and quality of life.

THE CURSE OF CASTE
By Mathew Kallumpram, England
Since members of all the castes are children of same God, they all belong to the same caste. All human beings have the same father, and children of the same father cannot have different castes. This is a noble teaching but ignored by the humanity. Let us hope that the minds and hearts will be cleansed soon of such sinful discriminatory attitudes.

HUMILITY AND GRATITUDE
By H.G. Mathews Mar Barnabas
The first Church at the time of the Acts of Apostles was one and united. They all worshipped and prayed in one church. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication. They all had one heart and one mind. Eucharist is the sacrifice for our thanksgiving to God for His benevolence and providence. It is a time that we humble ourself to God as living sacrifice to Him.

CALL OF GOD AND IT'S RESPONSIBILITIES
By Rev. Dr. Sam Kamaleshan
As Jesus was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon. And Jesus said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men." Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets. Jesus told to the man with one talent; ''Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest."
