SANCTIFYING POWER OF THE WORD
By H.G. Dr. Zachariahs Mar Theophilus Metropolitan
[Diocesan Metropolitan of Malabar Diocese Malankara Orthodox Church]
The word of God sanctifies us. It is a great blessedness to delight in the word of the Lord and to meditate it day and night to keep an intimate acquaintance with it. The Holy scripture is synonym for the God Himself. Those who receive the word of God come near to God and become resembled with God. Eventually he becomes holy and Godly. The word of God is a powerful tool to bring out an addicted society with evils. The proclamation of the word of God is a sacrament. Sacrament is the act which sanctifies us.

By Dr K.C.Nainan, Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A
The majesty and beauty of the heavens declare the glory of the living God who is the architect of the entire universe, known and unknown, visible and invisible, earthly and heavenly worlds alike. As followers and believers of Jesus Christ, we have much to thank and praise our Maker and Lord God including all the blessings and burdens we all experienced during the last year. And, our God is always with us during every moment granted to us by His infinite grace and love. God’s grace is enough for us to lead and experience an abundant life through out the New Year and every year thereafter.

THE GENEALOGY OF JESUS
By Fr. Dr. Reji Mathew, STOTS Nagpur
The history of Israel enters into a new phase by the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, whom the Israelites were waiting for a long. Jesus Christ is not only the Son of David but also the Son of Abraham. Genealogy of Jesus gives us a hope during this Christmas. Jesus has come, of course, not only for the religious and the royals but also for the unknown of the society. The women, and even those who are stigmatized as sinners, can be associated with Jesus and they can become a part in the salvation event. That is the uniqueness of Christmas.

A BRIDGE IS BUILT FROM 'THERE TO HERE'
By Prof. Dr. Zac Varghese, London
Do we realise that the current fad of effortless information collection has the built-in potential danger of causing intellectual paralysis, which may destroy our thinking faculties? However, the way to knowledge begins with the admission of ignorance. There is a miracle in observing the unobserved realities; there is a miracle in breathing in the untutored-truths; there is a miracle in catching the drops of truths from ‘the clouds of unknowing’ to quench our spiritual thirst. We have lost our God-given humanity because of our self-centred attitudes and ego boundaries.

By Rev. Rajkumar
It is the will of God that we obey His teachings. The kindness of our Lord delivered us from this bondage to His obedience. We received a rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit who provides us generously. We love God, because He first loved us. So our love to Jesus is only our return for the Love of God Who gave us His son as the His greatest love for the world. The goodness and forbearance and longsuffering of God lead us for the repentance. It is the Grace of God, which gives us salvation. There is abundant joy in obeying Lord.

TITHING
By E.S. John Australia
The sum total of all our worship and righteous lifestyle is a thanksgiving ritual to the Triune God. Humility at the feet of the Lord is the only thing that can send some wavelengths to understand our great nothingness and God’s infinite heights of glory. Sermon on the Mount is the main manifesto that clarifies that charity or love is the lifeblood of our life here, buttressed by sacramental nutrients.

REPENTANCE, A GOLDEN KEY
By V. Rev. K.A. Mathai Cor-Episcopa
Repentance of sins and discipleship are the two fundamental requisites for the growth of the Kingdom of Heaven. John the Baptist and Jesus Christ both started their public ministry with a powerful message of Repentance. According to New Testament, Salvation is unconditionally given to those sinners who repent. Repentance is a turn of life from evil to good and it is the comback to God for those who had gone away from Him. Also it is reconciliation with God and a spiritual reawakening.

THE "CROWN' AND "GIFT OF GOD" FOR THE DIASPORA
By Fr. Dr. Reji Mathew, STOTS Nagpur
The sudden demise of H.G. Dr. Stephanus Mar Theodosius is a blow to the Malankara Orthodox Church in general and for the Diaspora in particular. Thirumeni’s presence in North India itself was incredible. He came to north in the early fifties and has become a North Indian in many ways. No bishop of our Church has spent that much time in this part of our country. Thirumeni is almost unknown to many youngsters of Kerala, because he visited the mother land only for some unavoidable programs.

MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU - CHAPTER 1 : SICKNESS, THE WAY OF BLESSING - PART 1
By Fr. Dr. K.M. George And Mrs. Mariam Philiph George
Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. Jesus was a powerful and compassionate physician from heaven; Jesus went around not only for teaching, but for healing, and both with his word and His action. In some cases He sent his word, and healed people. He cured all type of sickness without exception. It is not wise or logical to think that sickness is the result of personal sin though there is relation between the fall of the man and infirmities of the mankind as a whole. The Christian tradition is to consider sickness as a blessing.
