As the episode of the Prodigal son is presented in a family atmosphere, we miss to see there a praying and guiding mother who could have deter the prodigal son. So this is a parable of a missed/lost mother. Also this is a parable of lost son and forgiving father. Parents are the bows and children are the arrows placed on it.
